Al Gator is a friendly representative of the FixerUpper company. When Al Gator sets out to complete a mission, no job is too big and certainly no job is too small. This light-hearted, witty and charming alligator will have you laughing right along with your children (Ages 4-8, ideally) as he moves from one interesting adventure to another...

This book is a collection of several short stories that are already published for the market, with one exception; the last story is the Friendly FixerUpper Finale and it can only be found right here in this book.

Exactly what stories are in this book? I'm glad you asked...
-Al Gator Calms The Carnival's Calamity - There are spooky happenings at the local carnival but nothing that Al Gator can't handle
-Al Gator Hustles To The Hospital - There's an issue with the X-ray machine, but it's a quick fix for an alligator with Al's IQ
-Al Gator And The Circus Conundrum - When performers 'clown' around at the traveling circus, Al is there to make sense of the mischief
-Al Gator Goes To The Gym - Al Gator is forced to team up with a rival FixerUpper, but in the end all is 'smoothied' over
-Al Gator Mends The Melting Man - The first annual 'Melting Man' festival insn't ending as smoothly as the participants had hoped, but Al is the right man for this job as well
-Al Gator And Ultimate Problem - Al Gator's boss, Persnickety Frankelburger III has really done it this time and Al has his work cut out for him as he tries to put everything back to normal in a 'timely' manner

This book is a compilation of short stories written for children between the ages of 4 and 8. There are several illustrations that neatly tie into each story, but this isn't technically a 'picture book.' Instead, the stories are meant to be enjoyed as parents read the stories to their children as they explain the nuances of Al's adventures...

Al Gator And The Friendly FixerUpper Follies edition by Isabel Jennings Roger Thatt Sherrie Dolby Children eBooks

I don't know why but there seems to be a fascination among kids these days with anything related to reptiles and dinosaurs. My niece loved it from the minute she saw the book cover.

Beautifully illustrated, this book contains six stories, each long enough to provide a pleasant reading session with your child. Al is a vegetarian and a smart, handy gator who solves problems and then happily gets on with his day.

The last story deals with time travel and it includes references to several historic characters and events in US History. I thought this story alone was worth the price of the book. Children will learn from Al Gator as they follow his adventures. Beautiful work!

Al Gator And The Friendly FixerUpper Follies edition by Isabel Jennings Roger Thatt Sherrie Dolby Children eBooks Reviews

I have to say that I was a bit disappointed with this book. Seeing the alliteration on the cover and the age range 4-8, I thought this might be a good story for my kids who are 5 and 6; both can read. The preview of the book let me see the page describing 5 short children's books. I thought maybe it would be like a series of first reader books. I was very wrong. The word usage in this book was very advanced. I know there is a trend towards using big-word synonyms in kids' books, but this one took it too far. For example shrieked, frantically, rickety, ASAP, expertise, guaranteed, vendor, vegetarian, delicious, demonstrated, niece, neither, clamorous, ghouls, tombstones.... These words may seem simple for grown-ups; but, to first readers, they are very hard and do not follow many of the phonetic rules. Even me reading to them would be too far out of reach. I also didn't really like the story itself. I am strict about what I read to my kids. I know that. But... I thought that a kids' book about a friendly alligator at a carnival aimed at the age group 4-8 would be family friendly. The first story- which I realized after reading was way too long to hold my kids' interest- included Ivan a sword swallower, Vulcan the fire-eater, and a haunted house with ghouls and tombstones. To most people, that wouldn't be an issue maybe, so I didn't give a horrible rating. To me, the age range was a bit expansive. I think 8-11 would be a more appropriate age-range. It's just my opinion, but I felt that since it is so different from the other reviews that it truly needed to be shared.
What a great character Al Gator is. Fun and easy to read and understand, filled with colorful pictures and not only that, but there are several stories to read for the price of one! Amazing value. Recommended!
Another Al Gator winner! A short, easy-to-read story about Al as he visits the circus for a bit of fixer-upper work. The illustrations are wonderful, the story good for a young reader or for reading aloud to a pre-reader. The kids I know love the silly names like Mr. Clamorous and Pernickety Frankelburger - the names really add to the story. Highly recommend as I do the other Al stories - the kids enjoy seeing what Al is going to get up to next.
These short stories are so clever and very cute for kids! Full of witty puns, problem-solving, and educational themes--kids will really enjoy these. These feel-good stories will make you laugh as Al solves problems at the carnival, the hospital, the gym and more. The structure of the stories are great because Al always runs into different situations in his journey to the problem, making the stories complex--each really is an adventure with lots of twists and turns! Thanks Al )
I'm always looking for fun stories for my nieces and nephews and this one is a definite winner. A vegetarian alligator, what a cute concept. Al Gator is a mammal on a mission to fix problems, big or small.

The story lines are well thought out and easy to read and the illustrations are nice. I'm positive this will become an instant hit with my nephew.
All six of these stories a loads of fun for kids and adults alike. The stories are all written with simple wording, so the kids can understand and even read it themselves if they really want to. The most important part of all in a kids book is the pictures, which "Al Gator And The Friend FixerUpper Follies" has lots of, all of which the kids really seem to love looking at.

If you are looking for some kids books to read to your kids or to a classroom of kids, then this book is a great choice to get several for very cheap.
I bought this book to read with my nieces and nephews who were staying with us over the weekend. They LOVE reading books on the iPad for bedtime (I am not sure what makes it more appealing to them than paper books, but I am just glad they love books), and this one was recommended by my Betterizer. It is a collection of six sweet little stories about the cutest little alligator, Al Gator. He has different adventures - even one involving time travel - that both my little niece (who is three) and my nephews (who are seven) loved! The illustrations are very well done; I love the expressions on little Al Gator's face! A definite must read for anyone with kids in the seven and under crowd!
