I read the e-book, "A Compendium of Souls", shortly after it became available and now I'm listening to the audio a few years later. The introduction alone is worth the price of the audio for the author's description of these fast-paced, crazy times -- especially in recent years with the rise of smart phones -- and the effects of them on all of us, especially young people. The insights are extremely well-written and articulate. I really have not heard -- or read -- anyone else give such a perceptively accurate and compelling account of the state of our souls in today's world. Then, as an architectural historian, I am delighted by the details given by the author about ancient temples, saints, and historical figures such as Aristotle and King Solomon to name just two in the book. Their messages are so very relevant. After the introduction each chapter is devoted to one of the (many) souls who who is up there willing and able to answer our prayers. And this is an important point that the author makes in the introduction -- that, if only we would ask -- and as long as it is for the highest good -- because they have the (egoless) power. The author makes the point that we can meditate but we also need to PRAY and maintain a dialogue with God and/or his/her intercessors. Also included are short prayers to help focus our intent and to begin a dialogue with these highest of souls. The narrator's soft British-accented voice is excellent and brings the book to another level. I highly recommend the audio version of "A Compendium of Souls."Product details
